Nephrology

Nephrology is the branch of medical health science that deals and focuses on the health, function, diseases and treatments related to kidneys.

It involves the use of certain medicines to restore kidney functions, taking diets to improve kidney health, and performing certain surgeries or treatments to cure kidney diseases.

A kidney is one of the most important organs as it removes all the extra fluid and waste from the body. It is our kidneys that maintain a balance of minerals, salt and water. It is also true that no human being can live without a kidney and if waste is not removed from the body, it can lead to severe diseases.
 
Kidneys need urgent care and treatment when they are completely damaged and can’t perform their functions properly. The problem starts with minor damage and if that isn’t treated on time, both the kidneys will get damaged and may stop working completely. If you see any symptoms related to a kidney, your doctor may recommend you to see a kidney specialist which is a Nephrologist. They are experts in diagnosing and treating all kidney diseases. They will do some tests, investigations and may be able to diagnose the problem. After diagnosing the exact kidney issue, they will then decide the appropriate treatment to slow or stop the damage.
