Department Of Critical Care Medicine(ICU)

All About Of Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
In serious cases where a person needs urgent care and treatment, we understand the importance of each and every second. Patients are admitted in ICU after a certain surgery, after a sudden deterioration in a patient’s health or after a severe accident. In all those cases, the patient needs close monitoring and urgent care.
Patients are admitted in Intensive care unit as they have multiple severe problems that need intensive care and close monitoring. At VishwaRaj Hospital, our special team of doctors in this department are well trained to assess and analyse the patient’s clinical condition and come up with possible clinical treatment options available in the least time. Our ICU department is a high priority department to ensure urgent care in the best time possible.
Medical conditions that require ICU
- 1. Major Trauma - It is a serious condition in which there is permanent or temporary damage in the brain tissues. Traumatic injury in the brain is caused by vehicle accidents, severe falls, sports accidents, etc. In such cases, there is a large impact on the head or the brain that causes bleeding or swelling in the brain.
- 2. Sepsis - Sepsis is a kind of infection that starts in one part of the body and then spreads throughout the body resulting in life-threatening condition. As soon as the infection spreads and the body makes a response, a new set of problems are caused resulting in inflammation in the whole body.
- 3. Stroke - It is a serious medical condition that occurs when there is a blockage in the supply of blood or oxygen in the brain. It also occurs when one of the blood vessels in the brain ruptures and bleeds. Stroke is a medical emergency that needs prompt treatment to save a person’s life.
- 4. Postoperative Care - In most of the cases, a person needs close monitoring and intensive care just after surgery. Here, we admit the person in the ICU. The admission in the ICU after surgery is not always planned but sometimes becomes important because of some problem caused during surgery.
- 5. Heart Failure - There a lot of Heart Emergencies that require immediate care along with close monitoring of a patient. Here, a person is admitted in the ICU. Heart attack or heart failure may require a patient’s admission in the ICU for giving urgent care and saving a life.
