Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs

When some viruses or pathogenic bacteria enter the urinary tract, it results in Urinary Tract Infections. Patients feel a burning sensation during urinating and feel that the bladder is still not empty after urinating. UTIs are often treated with medicines and care in almost 5-7 days for which a patient has to visit a urologist

DJ Stenting

It is a surgical process of inserting a thin tube called a ureteric stent, to treat or prevent blockage of the urine flow from the kidney.

Ureteroscopy (URS)

It is a surgical procedure to find, or sometimes fix kidney stones by inserting a ureteroscope through the urethra and bladder and up to the point where a stone is located.

Cystoscopy

It is an examining procedure where a surgeon examines the lining of the bladder and urethra by inserting a hollow tube with a lens, called a cystoscope.

Retrograde Urethrogram (RGU)

It a routine radiological process that is used to image the urethra and the bladder with the help of a special X-ray.

Acute kidney Injury

It is severe damage caused in the kidney within a few days, which is then treated by some medications, dialysis, ureteral stent or fluid replacement.

Polycystic kidney disease

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)

It is a procedure of removing small size kidney stones by creating a puncture wound on the skin.

Renal failure

It is the last stage of chronic kidney disease which can only be managed by slowing the process, reducing complications. At the last stage, it is often treated by kidney transplantation.

Chronic kidney disease

It is a dialysis procedure used to filter the blood by using the lining of the abdomen.

Chronic glomerulonephritis

It is a condition of inflammation and scarring in the glomeruli. It is often treated by some changes in the diet and taking supplements prescribed by a doctor.

The Department of Urology is the branch of medical science that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of male and female urinary tract that includes organs like kidneys, bladder, ureters, and urethra. This department also treats various diseases of male reproductive organs like the penis, scrotum, testes, prostate, etc.

An expert physician who treats urology diseases is a urologist that has a wide knowledge of internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, and some other parts of health care as well.

The practices of a urologist include two ways of treating such diseases, one way is a medical treatment which is also a non-surgical one, which is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia and urinary tract infections. 27. Permacath removal - t is a process of making a small incision and removing the catheter from the skin.
